Shop Window — Getting Found, Not Just Getting Built

By Martin Clarke

Martin Clarke. Recovering hypnotherapist, AI fanatic, AIPC founder.

A brilliant business with nobody able to find it might as well not exist online. Shop Window is about the other half of the problem that a website or a voice agent doesn't solve on its own: visibility. Why some trade businesses show up when someone nearby searches for what they do, and others — sometimes better businesses — don't show up at all.

What you'll find here

No AI hype in this section. This is the practical side: how Google actually decides who to show first, what a Google Business Profile needs to look right, why reviews matter more than most people think, and what genuinely moves the needle versus what's a waste of time.

The goal of every post here is the same: someone searches for what you do, nearby, right now — and you're one of the names they see.

Why this is its own section

It would be easy to fold this into general AI content, but getting found and having good AI tools are two different problems that both need solving, and treating them as one topic does justice to neither. This is the one that's about being seen; the tools that answer the phone and handle the work once you are seen live elsewhere on this site.

Where this connects

If you're curious about the technology behind the tools that handle what happens after someone finds you, that's [Machine Room](/blog/machine-room) and [Ayup AI](/blog/ayup-ai) — this section is deliberately just about the finding part.
