Talking Website for roofers
Roofing enquiries don't come in at a good time. A leak shows up at 9pm in the rain, and the customer is on their phone looking for someone who'll actually get back to them. Most roofers' websites give them a contact form and a wait.
A normal website lets customers walk. A talking website lets customers talk. Ask questions, get answers, then book.
What a Talking Website does for a roofer
Your site talks back.
Customers tap one button and ask what they want: do you cover my area, do you do flat roofs, can someone look at a leak this week. Your agent answers from what you've told us about your business, the same way you would.
Your agent handles "roughly how much?"
Customers want a rough idea before they book. Your agent gives the ballpark you're happy with, or explains how you price, and books the survey, so you turn up to a customer who already knows what happens next.
Your agent books them in.
Once their questions are answered, your agent books them in straight into your diary, so the enquiry doesn't sit in an inbox until Friday.
Your site looks like a roofer's site.
Weather, roof lines, solid type, your own photos of your own work. On your form, you send us a website in your trade you like the look of, and we build yours from that, so it looks the way you want it to, not like a painter's template with the name swapped.
You stay on the roof.
If you can't get to your phone, the customer gets a text straight away with a link to your website, so they can talk to your agent and book, instead of ringing the next name.
How it works
- Talk to Ollie on this site. He's the same kind of agent your customers would get. Book your specification call with Martin.
- You receive your specification form, "Fill after listening" (an audio message inside the form talks you through it). This is where you give us the essentials we need to build your site.
- You have your specification call with Martin, booked with Ollie, where he builds the detail and the message around what you've sent us, so your site sounds like your business, not a template.
- Your Test Drive, where you operate your Talking Website, with your own voice agent on it, and book yourself an appointment exactly as your customers would. If you're happy, pay your first month. Then your website and your voice agent are commissioned, you sign off each page, and we push your site live, usually within a week and sometimes in as little as three days.
Launch price: £97 a month, locked in. No setup fee. No long term contract.
Questions roofers ask
A normal website lets customers walk. A talking website lets customers talk. On your Talking Website for roofers, your agent answers questions about leaks, flat roofs and the areas you cover, books surveys straight into your diary, and if you can't get to your phone, the customer gets a text straight away with a link to your website.
Your agent gives the answer you'd give. Most roofers do one of two things, and you can do both:
- Explain why it depends. Putting back a few slipped tiles is a very different job from re-roofing a semi with new battens, membrane and scaffolding up for a week. Your agent explains that, so the customer understands why you need to see it, then books the survey.
- Give a starting price. For small jobs, your agent can say something like "replacing a few slipped tiles, where no scaffolding is needed, starts from [£]", so they know roughly where they stand before you come out.
You choose on your specification call, and your agent only quotes the figures you've given us.
Your agent doesn't guess. If someone asks something you haven't covered, like whether their job will need scaffolding, your agent says you'll answer that properly yourself, and books them in or takes their number for a callback. The more you tell us on your form and your specification call, the more your agent can answer on the spot.
Yes. On the specification form you fill in before speaking to Martin, you choose what your agent books: a callback or a site visit. The most effective is a site visit. Your agent books the earliest free slot in your diary, and you can always ring the customer first to check anything you want to know before you make the journey.
However you want them handled. Some roofers want emergencies booked into the next free slot. Others want your agent to give the customer your mobile number for genuine emergencies only, like water coming through in a storm. And if part of a roof or ceiling looks like it could come down, your agent tells them to keep everyone away from it first.
Your agent works like your website, not like a phone line. So in the same way that no one finds a website engaged because someone else is browsing, several customers can talk to your agent at once, and nobody gets an engaged tone or a voicemail. Your agent tells each of them honestly how soon you can get to them and books them into your next free slots.
