Talking Website for plumbers
Plumbing jobs rarely wait for a convenient moment. Water coming through the ceiling, a toilet that won't stop running, a tap that's been dripping for a week and has finally done someone's head in. The customer wants to know one thing fast: can you help, and when? Most plumbers' websites give them a contact form and a wait.
A normal website lets customers walk. A talking website lets customers talk. Ask questions, get answers, then book.
What a Talking Website does for a plumber
Your site talks back.
Customers tap one button and ask what they want to know: do you cover my area, is this something you do, can someone come out today, do you do bathroom fits as well as repairs. Your agent answers from what you've told us about your business, the way you would.
Your agent handles "roughly how much?"
Customers want a rough idea before they book. Your agent gives the ballpark you're happy with, or explains how you price, and books the visit, so you turn up to a customer who already knows what happens next.
Your agent books them in.
Once their questions are answered, your agent books the call-out or the quote visit straight into your diary, so the enquiry doesn't sit in an inbox while they ring round.
Repairs or installs, your agent knows the difference.
Whether it's a dripping tap or a full bathroom, your agent knows which jobs you take, which you don't, and how each one works with you, so the right customers get booked for the right thing.
Your site looks like your business.
Your work, your area, your own photos. On your form, you send us a website in your trade you like the look of, and we build yours from that, so it looks the way you want it to, not like a template with the name swapped.
You stay on the job.
If you can't get to your phone, the customer gets a text straight away with a link to your website, so they can talk to your agent and book, instead of ringing the next name.
How it works
- Talk to Ollie on this site. He's the same kind of agent your customers would get. Book your specification call with Martin.
- You receive your specification form, "Fill after listening" (an audio message inside the form talks you through it). This is where you give us the essentials we need to build your site.
- You have your specification call with Martin, booked with Ollie, where he builds the detail and the message around what you've sent us, so your site sounds like your business, not a template.
- Your Test Drive, where you operate your Talking Website, with your own voice agent on it, and book yourself an appointment exactly as your customers would. If you're happy, pay your first month. Then your website and your voice agent are commissioned, you sign off each page, and we push your site live, usually within a week and sometimes in as little as three days.
Launch price: £97 a month, locked in. No setup fee. No long term contract.
Questions plumbers ask
A normal website lets customers walk. A talking website lets customers talk. On your Talking Website for plumbers, your agent answers questions about repairs, installs and the areas you cover, books call-outs and quote visits straight into your diary, and if you can't get to your phone, the customer gets a text straight away with a link to your website.
Your agent gives the answer you'd give. Most plumbers do one of two things, and you can do both:
- Explain why it depends. A small bathroom with a toilet, a basin, lino and painted walls is a very different job from a big room with a shower, a jacuzzi bath, a bidet, marble floors and full tiling. Your agent explains that, so the customer understands why you need to see it, then books the visit.
- Give a starting price. If you do budget jobs, your agent can say something like "a toilet and shower in a room up to [size] starts from [£]", so they know roughly where they stand before you come out.
You choose on your specification call, and your agent only quotes the figures you've given us.
Your agent doesn't guess. If someone asks something you haven't covered, like whether their old pipes will cope with a power shower, your agent says you'll answer that properly yourself, and books them in or takes their number for a callback. The more you tell us on your form and your specification call, the more your agent can answer on the spot.
Yes. On the specification form you fill in before speaking to Martin, you choose what your agent books: a callback or a site visit. The most effective is a site visit. Your agent books the earliest free slot in your diary, and you can always ring the customer first to check anything you want to know before you make the journey.
However you want them handled. Some plumbers want emergencies booked into the next free slot. Others want your agent to give the customer your mobile number for genuine emergencies only, like water coming through a ceiling. You choose on your specification call, and your agent sticks to it.
Your agent tells them politely that you don't, so you're never booked for a job you can't take. If you're Gas Safe registered and do boilers, your agent books those too.
